Peoples’ Friendship university of Russia (PFUR) is one of the leading higher educational institutions of Russia. The National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Honorary Academician N.F. Gamaleya of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, founded in 1891, is one of the world’s leading research institutes in its area. The Center carries fundamental and applied research in epidemiology, medical microbiology, genetics and molecular biology of bacteria and viruses, immunology of infections, cell microbiology and bioengineering. It has a unique collection of viruses, and has its own vaccine production line. It has successfully engineered and registered two vaccines for the Ebola fever using adenovirus vectors, and was the first on the market to register COVID-19 vaccine “Sputnik-V” designed using the same platform.

Infectious Agents and Cancer is an open access, peer-reviewed online journal that encompasses all aspects of basic, clinical, epidemiological and translational research providing an insight into the association between chronic infections and cancer.
The journal welcomes submissions in the pathogen-related cancer areas and other related topics pertinent to the development of therapies for chronic infections and cancer.
Of particular interest are HPV and anogenital cancers (as well as head and neck cancers), EBV and Burkitt lymphoma, HCV/HBV and hepatocellular carcinoma (as well as lymphoproliferative diseases), HHV8 and Kaposi sarcoma, HTLV and leukemia and Cancers in Low- and Middle-income countries.
